Built in 1930 as "Spartak", it is the oldest football stadium in Yerevan and the 2nd oldest in Armenia after the Gyumri City Stadium. With a single stand located on the eastern side of the pitch, the stadium can serve around 1,700 spectators. During the 1930s, the stadium was used by the football team of the newly-founded Spartak Sports Union, which later became to be known as Ararat Yerevan.
